Long time no newsletter! Thanks for sticking with me, I'm going through a period of big change but I'm here now to catch you all up on my goings-onsis. This month I want to harness an energy of curiosity, exploration and discovery. Forever figuring out how to exist in the present moment, again and again and ah... you get it.
I'm back teaching at Schoolhouse for Art, writing lesson plans and getting over-excited about colour theory. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, it is immensely satisfying for me to help others on their creative journey. I have an absolutely fabulous bunch of students and I'm really feeling the love.
Not getting much studio time but I have been keeping myself creatively occupied. Lots of good stuff in the pipeline. Also a couple of my paintings have been pre-selected for the Royal Society of Oil Painters in London. Yay!
On the easel ...
'Self-portrait' (work in progress) | Oil and cold wax medium
More self discovery and exploration underway in my current piece. I'm still using my chromatic palette of magenta, viridian and cadmium orange. If you don't know what I'm on about check out my reels on Instagram where I share my discovery. I'm still on a cold wax medium buzz too. It's a bit of a beast to control but I love the matte and textured finish. The ends justify the means.
As you may know I used to have a group on Facebook where I would share these things but in learning more about my own limits (and spreading myself too thin) I have decided to kick Facebook for now and focus my efforts on Instagram. All the good stuff will be there.

Presentation ...
Very honoured to have been asked by UCD to present as part of the IoN RDPU Neurodiversity Masterclass series. We chatted about the artistic process, learning to see, visual bias, ADHD, and how to get out of a creative slump.
Moderated by UCD and ADHD Ireland.
My initial presentation runs for 14 minutes and the rest is Q&A. Enjoy!

Other Shiny Things ...
Wow! Well done for reading this far!
I've continued my quest to re-watch all of Star Trek. Currently working through Voyager, love me some Janeway. Also had the pleasure of being introduced to Battlestar Galactica so that's a thumbs up from me.
My little one has just started Junior Infants which is keeping me on top of my scheduling (as much as possible) and I'm off to an improv festival called 'Gather' in a couple of weeks which will be a nice break.
Hope you are all keeping well and easing your way into Autumn.
