An introspective piece, Sinead seeks the familiar with a comforting woollen cardigan as the world outside turns upside down. It exposes her vulnerability and at the same time her resolve, pieced together by thousands of impasto brushstrokes and bright chromatic colours.

'Self-portrait with goat's skull’ marks a turning point in the artists life. Moving from a difficult time with illness and stepping into her power as a mother. The lines and glowing light are representative of Sinead's experience of synaesthesia, a merging of the senses not normally connected. The goat’s skull represents ‘memento mori’, a reminder of the inevitability of death.
